Success of the Harvard–Jagiellonian student team in a moot court on religious freedom!

We are delighted to inform that our joint student team returned from Rome with the first success in a moot court competition: the award for best oralist!

A request for leave to intervene as a third party before the European Court of Human Rights

On February 12, 2026, we submitted a request for leave to intervene as a third party before the European Court of Human Rights in the case Pontificia, Real y Venerable Esclavitud del Santísimo Cristo de la Laguna and Diocese of San Cristóbal de la Laguna v. Spain (Application no. 7421/25). This constitutes our first direct submission to the Strasbourg Court.

Our amicus curiae brief submitted to the Supreme Court of Norway

On 26 January 2026, Centre for Law and Religious Freedom at Jagiellonian University and the Religious Freedom Clinic at Harvard Law School submitted an amicus curiae brief to the Supreme Court of Norway in proceedings concerning the deregistration of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Norway and the withdrawal of state funding.

Harvard-Jagiellonian student team qualified for the moot court on religious freedom!

We are delighted to announce that a joint student team from the Centre for Law and Religious Freedom at the Jagiellonian University’s Department of Roman Law and the Religious Freedom Clinic at Harvard Law School had been admitted as a team to participate in the finals of the International Moot Court Competition in Law and Religion, organized by the International Consortium for Law and Religious Studies, the International Center for Law and Religion Studies at BYU, and the Mattone Center for Law and Religion at St. John’s University School of Law.

Our success: Norwegian Court of Appeal mentions the Centre and the Clinic

The Borgarting Court of Appeal in Oslo has referred to the joint letter that was sent by the Centre for Law and Religious Freedom at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and the Harvard Law School Religious Freedom Clinic in support of the religious freedom appeal. This is our first success in court!
